DeSMAS CONSULTANCY SERVICES (DCS) is an autonomous and supporting consultancy to the local NGO Deprived Single Mothers Assistance Scheme (DeSMAS), which operates in the Tema Municipality. It is an organisation which provides a whole range of consultancy services to business, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Community Based Organisations (CBO) and other enterprise that desires professional advice based on already available knowledge or seeks knowledge based on research. Our core competence is in social research. Project Planning and implementation. Other professionals in Research and Academic Institutions such as the Universities, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and other allied Institutions are recruited to lend their expertise as and when needed.

- That many development projects especially at the community level have made only modest gains due to the neglect of the integration of other stakeholders such as community based organisation and the application of tested and documented knowledge derived from research and proven expertise.
- That a holistic approach to development problems is imperative requiring a multidisciplinary orientation.
- The need for the development of local capacities, expertise and perspectives in the areas of development planning, project design, planning and implementation. Monitoring and Evaluation.
