Mr. Mac-Donald Akolbire Adabere is a community and social development practitioner. He has cumulative experience of more than fifteen years in community development work, public administration, consulting, capacity building and teaching. With a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Philosophy degree in Social Work from the University of Ghana, he has worked with Non-Governmental Organizations/partners in Ghana to promote the rights of Women and Children, Persons with Disabilities. He has been involved in monitoring and evaluating various
projects, social impact assessments of some projects on communities notable among them include the Bui Hydro Electric Power plant, activities of Adamus Mining Company, Anglo Gold Ashanti among others. He has also facilitated/served as a resource person at various workshops to build the capacity of Non-governmental Organizations under the auspices of UNICEF and thenILO. He has also contributed to research in areas such HIV/AIDS, child labour, and negative cultural practices among others. He has worked in different capacities with various organizations including Sight Savers International, Ghana /Anglican Dioceses of Tamale, National Disaster Management Organization, SGS Ghana Ltd, Department of Social Work, University of Ghana, Department of Social Welfare and Carora Consult. He is currently an administrator with the University of Professional Studies, Accra where he is working to provide support services to students, mentoring support to student groups, organize orientation for newly admitted students, and the development of policy towards the progress of the University.
